When presented with the opportunity of opening a new restaurant in Edmonton we were very excited. What were we going to call it? The process started with creating a list of names we liked or were creatively interested in. The problem arose that most were taken or trademarked. One of the partner’s Mother was very interested in assisting. She provided over 100 names. Half of the names she provided we had already thought of and the other half were not fitting the image we were looking for. Randomly she then sends a message with another suggestion at 11:11 AM. Growing up (and still to this day), she would always mention to Stephen, its 11:11, make a wish! We wanted to open with elevated pub style food with great service. We did a name search and it worked. That was it, the name was created. How fitting was this going to be! We made our wish and eleven eleven kitchen + bar is here to stay! Funny story is Stephen’s mother was disappointed that we didn’t choose one of her original suggestions but when hearing the story, instantly fell in love with it as well.
